What’s up? We appreciate you for checking in on us. We’ve said this before, but just to reiterate… we get it’s more reading, so we won’t make these too long. We want you to enjoy every opportunity you have during your down time to embrace your time to chill. Let’s keep it REAL, if you’re a student or educator, down time is meant for you to let loose a bit because of the stress of a school year (from both sides of education). So, we get it, enjoy yourselves, but always remember to consider the consequences of your choices.

As you probably already know, we love the game of chess. The concept of the game and the way the pieces move are a part of our core values because they relate very well to life and how we can use situations and opportunities to our advantage. We can even set up and create the opportunity ourselves, if we are smart enough to realize our power. The power of choice is so important because each choice you make will determine your success when it counts the most. Our choices, like chess pieces, can be used to fuel our ultimate goals and future accomplishments. They can be stepping stones toward the top of the mountain, where you will thank yourself for all of the great choices you made to get you to the top. Our choices, like our decisions with our chess pieces, can also lead to setbacks and a loss of opportunities. We wanted to share this simple reminder of how important your choices are because, as we continue to reiterate, each one can lead you closer to where you want to be in life.
Consequences always exist after any choice we make. Let’s keep it REAL, we all make those choices that we regret. We’ve all reconsidered a decision we’ve made after the fact. What if we considered the consequences before we even make our choice? If you play chess with a clock, great… but for those of us who play without the clock, we usually take our time and consider the best move before we make it. What if we used this same logic in life? Yes, we all have to make split decisions at times, but if we have the luxury of considering our choice before we make it, shouldn’t we take advantage of this opportunity? The best way to do that is by simply asking yourself, “Is it worth it?” Each choice has a response to this simple question. If you consider all of the consequences, good and bad, of each choice, you’ll come to the conclusion of whether the choice is worth making or not. Sometimes in chess we have to sacrifice a piece because it’s worth it in the long run. Sometimes in life we might have to do the same thing, especially if the choice you’re making has anything to do with your future goals.

Again, we appreciate you for taking the time to catch up with us. We want to see you be the best version of yourself, while also having fun and enjoying the process. We hope this was a good reminder for you to take advantage of your opportunities.
Keep it REAL.
