REAL Talk #24

Welcome back to more helpful advice and knowledge that can further your success as a student or professional. We look forward to helping everyone succeed in accomplishing life goals. To help you succeed, we want to share why being a professional is important. First, we define a professional as someone who carries themselves with the appropriate skills and knowledge that validates their qualification for a specific opportunity. Let’s keep it REAL, professionals also show up every day and get the job done without excuses.

As a student, you can consider yourself a professional. In other words, you can be a professional student by developing the necessary skills and knowledge that empower you to be self-disciplined, respectful, and responsible. Being a professional student also means caring about the way you present yourself (i.e., your manners and physical appearance). These characteristics are extremely important because each one, individually and collectively, represents who you are wherever you go. We encourage all students to become aware of these characteristics and how to improve each one. Once you have worked on each factor, you will find yourself advancing in life because you have the qualities that contribute to and influence important life goals.

As a new or current professional, there are probably a few things you can improve on that will help you accomplish your career and life goals. However, sometimes this has little to do with your professional experience. We want to remind you that being a professional is more than your experience; it is also about how you take accountability for who you are. Do you have professional standards for yourself? You have to set standards for yourself that help you grow and manifest your potential. The key is to self-reflect and become aware of the potential you have while committing to improving who you are. As a result, you will reward yourself with becoming an educated, experienced, decorous professional in whatever you ultimately decide to do in life.

Thank you for checking in! We hope to have provided you with great insight. Never stop working on who you are! Success is waiting for you…

Keep it REAL.
