Yo! We appreciate you for checking in! This post is meant to honor the teachers who are dedicated to producing future leaders that will have a positive impact on society. Let’s keep it REAL, teachers should not be taken for granted because they have one of the most important jobs in the world. REAL Teachers are not just teachers in the classroom but at all times. They understand the responsibility they have and the consistency necessary to make a lasting impact. Yes, teachers are REAL Superheroes when they use their powers for good. Just like any superhero, their powers are so strong that they can be used for good or evil, depending on what decision they choose to make. To keep it REAL, we all have the ability to be either a hero or a villain to others. That is why it is so honorable that a teacher decides to help the next generation, which is a superpower that we all have.

The traditional superhero is commonly depicted as someone motivated to do good by others. This can be many things, but it typically involves protecting society from villains, severe weather, etc. The superhero is typically dressed in something that lets people know who they are with their specific symbol on the costume. They don’t want people to know their real names or identity, so they go by their superhero name, which is sometimes related to their special ability. Finally, after they save the day, the superhero changes back into their normal clothes and roams amongst society as if they are a normal person. How is this any different from our teachers?
A teacher’s sole responsibility is to prepare our students for success and to be positive and productive citizens to society. This is an extremely selfless responsibility that teachers do voluntarily. Teachers show up in professional attire and typically go by Mr., Mrs., or Dr. These names are meant to show respect for their position and role they have in society. Once they’ve finished educating our next generation of future leaders, they go back to their normal names, put on their normal clothes and roam amongst society as if they are normal people. Teachers are no different from the fictional characters we’ve been learning about as we grow up.

This post was meant to shed some positive light on the special role teachers have in our society and specifically for our culture. To keep it REAL, teachers are sometimes taken for granted and there should be more praise for what they do for us daily. Check out this TED Talk by Rita Pierson about the important role of educators in our lives. We hope this post helps you appreciate your own teachers or the role and responsibility you have if you are a teacher yourself. Again, teachers aren’t just in the classroom. You can be a teacher in your own way, but every teacher was once a student.
Keep it REAL.
