REAL Talk #50

Thank you for checking in with us. We appreciate your support! Most importantly, we hope that our posts have been enlightening and helped you achieve your goals. Each blog leading into this one has alluded to the hustler’s mentality that our culture embodies, with the use of education, to succeed in life. This post will, therefore, be a reflection on the importance of using our hustler’s mentality productively as well as an encouragement to our future leaders to continue to make good, positive contributions to society. We will discuss the hustler’s mentality as it relates to education and the hustler’s mentality as it relates to learning.

Education

Let’s keep it REAL, life is full of surprises (or a box of chocolates) that can be both good and bad. We have to learn how to survive these surprises and unforeseen circumstances that can put someone in the position to… hustle. Since we are keeping it REAL, most of these surprises are usually negative; whether it’s unforeseen debt, illness or a new child being welcomed into the family, these surprises usually cause us to… yes, hustle. The good news is that, if you’ve earned a degree from an accredited institution, well now you have the ability to find a job that will help you take care of certain surprises that you have no control over. We get it, school is boring and a lot of what we are required to learn can be perceived as useless. However, we also understand that to live a sustainable life in this country, we will need some form of proof that we are positive contributors to society. In this country, that typically means you have a school diploma. Let’s keep it REAL, we also get that this little piece of paper with fancy letters doesn’t mean that you are more intelligent than someone else; it simply means you were able to successfully regurgitate the information that was provided to you.

To anticipate certain surprises, someone can use their success (from the diploma they earned) to bring more good fortune for more stability. This is typically someone who uses their abilities and resources to have a better future than their current situation, then shares those resources with others they care about. This frame of mind is what we like to call the ‘Hustler’s Mentality’ because it contains valuable characteristics that help people succeed in life. The ‘Hustler’s Mentality’ is all about embracing the grind with effort, dedication, commitment, persistence, and resilience to fulfill desires and achieve goals. It also means that you understand the necessity of the grind, effort, etc. that must be done in order to live the life you want to live.

Learning

Let’s keep it REAL, we are either learning or dying. Yes, learning is living. As long as we are alive, we are learning. We are always in a situation that we can learn from. In failure, we can learn from our mistakes so that we don’t make them next time (this is wisdom) and in success, we can learn how to stay there without becoming complacent and arrogant. We can learn just as much (if not more) on the street as we can in the classroom. A REAL Hustler understands that they need to stay aware of constant learning opportunities that present themselves every day. We encourage our future leaders to use this mentality and embrace its characteristics for personal growth that empowers you to make positive contributions to society. The Hustler’s Mentality is powerful because it has proven to be beneficial in developing the necessary skills and discipline for overcoming challenges and achieving your ultimate goal.

As always, thank you for checking in. We truly hope our future leaders can use this information for good. The ‘Hustler’s Mentality’ is a powerful move that emphasizes thinking ahead with the use of your unique abilities and resources. Future prosperity depends on a mentality like this one because it influences smart decisions and wise actions. Let this be your reason for embodying the ‘Hustler’s Mentality’ because the reward will always be worth the hustle.

Keep it REAL.
