I am Mexican American and come from immigrant parents. I went to a really rigorous high school and played on the varsity basketball team for 4 years. I served as captain for three of those years. I also spent two years on the board for the First Generation Student club, serving as the treasurer for the said club. As a way to make some extra money and help my parents out a little, I worked at Little Caesars for the last two years of high school.
I am about to venture into my senior year at Lehigh University. I completed an internship with a professor from Milan University on non-invasive techniques to help people with all types of addiction. To further get ahead with my college credits, I also took a course on cross-cultural studies which was really interesting as I learned about how to properly engage with people from different cultures. I also picked up a part-time job at amazon working from 6:30 pm to 5:00 am to have my own money and become somewhat financially dependent from my parents. I also trained extremely hard as I envision myself being a walk-on for the mens basketball team at Lehigh this upcoming year
My first immediate goal for the future is being able to make the mens basketball team. My second goal would be to graduate from Lehigh University with a bachelor of science in Behavioral Neuroscience and a minor in Health, Medicine, and Society. Finally, my last long-term goal is applying to Physician’s Assistant school and fulfilling my dream of helping people out and being a PA.
