Ammaarah Williams

My name is Ammaarah Williams. I was born on August 5th, 1999 in Cleveland, Ohio. I attended North Carolina Central University (NCCU) where I pursued both my athletic and academic career. I received my Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management from NCCU in 2021. Also, I was blessed to receive 2 Debra Saunders-White Leadership awards, All-Rookie Team, 4 MEAC All-Academic team, NCCSIA All-State Second team, hold the University volleyball record for highest hitting percentage in the D1 era, 3 First-Team All Conference, 3 All-Tournament Team Awards, and an iron eagle award for strength and conditioning while playing for and attending NCCU. I began pursuing my Masters’ degree in Business Administration at NCCU before transferring to Coppin State University for volleyball purposes. At Coppin State University I received 2 MEAC-All Academic Team, First-Team All Conference Team, 2 First-Team All Tournament Team, and made history by becoming the first volleyball team in school history to win the MEAC Volleyball Championship Tournament and made our first appearance in the NCAA tournament.

Currently, I am still a student-athlete at Coppin State University studying for my entrepreneurship certificate as I am awaiting my professional volleyball career. I signed with image4sport volleyball agency and am predicted to go pro late summer or early fall. I continue to train and recover with my volleyball coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, physical therapist, and athletic trainers. Also, I am working at a DSP (delivery service partner) for Amazon in Baltimore, Maryland. A lot of my days are busy as I am in the process of accomplishing a lot of goals and objectives. All the work will be worth it.

For my future, I plan on making my debut as a professional volleyball player for a few seasons then pursue a career in coaching. My ultimate goal in life is to become a volleyball coach and help athletes find and better themselves as an athlete and person. I want to be the type of coach that is always there for her athletes and guide them in different aspects in life, not just volleyball. Building connections and relationships with my athletes and their families will be one of my main and most important objectives to achieve. The influence coaches have in athletes’ lives are huge and I pray to influence and guide them in the best way possible when my time comes.
