I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, where my early experiences shaped my passion for neuroscience and medicine. As a neurodivergent individual, I faced unique challenges that fueled my determination to advocate for neurodiversity and inclusivity. During this time, I also earned the Eagle Scout Award, which instilled in me a sense of leadership and community service. My interest in neuroscience and medicine was further solidified through early internships, such as the Cardiothoracic Surgical Skills Summer Internship at Stanford University, where I explored innovative surgical techniques and presented research on flexible robotics in minimally invasive surgery. These experiences, combined with the support of mentors and teachers, inspired me to pursue a career at the intersection of neuroscience, medicine, and advocacy.
Currently, I am completing my Bachelor of Science in Cognitive & Computational Neuroscience at The Ohio State University, with an expected graduation in Spring 2025. I am actively involved in multiple research projects, including my work at the Nisonger Center, where I developed a survey and training module to promote neuroinclusive classrooms, and at the Mayo Clinic, where I contributed to groundbreaking research on brain extracellular space and neural impedance. Additionally, I serve as the President and Founder of the Autistic Students Union at Ohio State, where I lead initiatives to create a supportive community for neurodivergent students and advocate for inclusive policies. I am also preparing manuscripts for publication and continuing my clinical shadowing experiences to deepen my understanding of neurosurgery and family medicine. My current work reflects my commitment to bridging the gap between neuroscience research, clinical practice, and neurodiversity advocacy.
My future goal is to attend medical school, with a focus on integrating innovative technologies and neurodiversity-informed practices into patient care. I aim to contribute to the development of novel surgical techniques and therapies that improve outcomes for patients with neurological conditions. Beyond clinical practice, I plan to continue advocating for neurodivergent individuals by expanding initiatives like the Autistic Students Union and developing resources to support neuroinclusive education and workplaces. Ultimately, I aspire to be a leader in both the medical and neurodiversity communities, leveraging my unique perspective as a neurodivergent individual to drive meaningful change in healthcare and society. My journey is driven by a commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and excellence in neuroscience and medicine.
