Thank you so much for selecting me as the next REAL Recognize REAL Student of the Month. I am truly honored and grateful for this recognition. It means a great deal to be seen not only as a student but also as a future leader and a positive example within our culture.
As a junior in high school, I was sentenced to 20 years in prison—an experience that shaped the direction of my life in profound ways. At a pivotal moment, I reconnected with my sixth-grade teacher and lifelong mentor, Mrs. Carla Molloy-Jefferson, who became a guiding light during one of my darkest periods. Since then, I’ve stepped into leadership roles that reflect my commitment to transformation and service. I previously served as Executive College Men’s Teams President for ROOTS Mentoring at Fayetteville State University and currently serve as the PREP Coach for the Matriculation Institute. I’m also the founder of Moore Visions Empowerment, a leadership development company focused on social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and reentry support for at-risk youth and adults.
I am currently a Social Work major at Fayetteville State University, where my academic journey is strengthened by real-world experience. My favorite class so far has been Ethics, which deepened my understanding of justice, service, and integrity. I’ve interned with New Student Orientation and actively volunteer with local organizations that serve at-risk youth. Every opportunity I engage in is connected to my mission of mentoring, uplifting, and empowering the next generation.
After earning my undergraduate degree, I plan to enroll in an accelerated master’s program in Social Work. My ultimate goal is to scale Moore Visions Empowerment to have a nationwide and eventually global impact. I also intend to pursue a Ph.D. with a focus on Black male retention in higher education. My purpose is to save as many young lives as possible by sharing my story, providing tools for growth, and helping others realize their full potential.
