Brianna Rodgers

My Name is Brianna Rodgers. I am from Columbus Ohio and have just recently graduated from Upper Arlington High School. Throughout my years in Upper Arlington I have had many experiences that have helped me progress and get where I am today. During my junior and senior year of high school I was co-president of the UAHS Photo Club, where I learned how to become a leader and made me more confident in my ability to motivate and direct others. Another activity that helped me get to where I am today is my job at Dewey’s Pizza. My job taught me so many things like honoring my commitments, being on time, teamwork, and problem solving. After graduating high school I have thought about those who have influenced me in my life. Of course going to school for so many years many of my teachers were great role models and helped me shape my life to the way I wanted it. Someone who really inspired me was my high school Spanish teacher. I had her for 3 years and she was one of those teachers who you could feel cheering you on and supporting you all the way to the very end.

Currently I am in my first year at the University of Cincinnati. Right now I’m in the exploratory program figuring out what I want to major in. I am in between a marketing degree and something in nutrition and health. I am taking classes that will help me figure out where I want to head next in my life. This semester I am enrolled in a marketing class where I learn about the foundation of marketing and what future jobs in that field could entail. I’m also taking a public health class where I learn about an overview of what public health does and the many things that it affects. Being in college has helped me see outside of my limited view when it comes to my future career and life. I have learned that there are many aspects that go into choosing your pathways and that taking time to figure them out is advantageous.

I hope to graduate from an undergrad program at the University of Cincinnati in 2029. I don’t know if what I want to do  involves grad school yet but I hope to start working full time straight after school. Whichever career path I take I would like to be passionate and truly excited about what I’m doing because I believe the best work comes from people who truly respect what they do themselves. In my future job I hope to acquire a role of leadership to be able to help guide people as others did for me throughout my life. Along with my career aspirations I hope that I can expand my knowledge through traveling the world and experiencing different cultures.
