REAL Talk #21

Yo! Thanks for checking in, we hope you’re having the time of your life right now. Today we wanted to share with you the importance of tests and studying. We feel it’s necessary to become aware of the impact of these two aspects including the positive outcomes that result from each. As lifelong learners, tests and studying are often part of the process that develops and contributes to our ability to be productive members of society. We encourage you to embrace the concept of being challenged (tested) and acquiring knowledge (studying) for personal and academic growth.

Tests are like challenges in life that progress your knowledge and capabilities. Individuals typically take a test to evaluate and advance their knowledge; the more experience we have can result in more complex tests. We share this to say tests are important because a test promotes growth. Tests typically question what you already know and challenge you to think further. Although this can be intimidating at first for some, by the end of a test you should applaud yourself for overcoming a challenge and experiencing growth.

The best part of taking a test is knowing that you can prepare for it. Studying is like creating the blueprint for a goal you aspire to achieve. You are also taking ownership of how well you will do on a test when you study. Speaking of ownership, check out our blogs Part 1 and Part 2 of the Power of Ownership! Taking this concept a step further, studying is incredibly important because it helps you define how you view yourself. It not only develops your knowledge, but also develops your confidence and skills. The point is, studying supports personal growth and development. The concept of studying translates into the type of person you will become. For example, a person who chooses to faithfully study is someone who becomes experienced as they build their skills, confidence and knowledge.

Let’s keep it REAL, life is full of challenges. Life continues to test us because there is always room for growth. Take a moment to think of your life and how you’ve developed mentally, physically and emotionally because of a test. There is always a part of us that we can further develop or enhance, whether you are a child or an adult. As a result, we experience an event or situation that ultimately strengthens us. The great thing about the concept of life testing us is that there is a purpose and a reasoning behind it. We encourage you to take a moment to reflect inward and find the reason why life is testing you. We hope can find greater meaning for your life and overcome the challenges it brings!

Thank you for choosing to stop by and enhance your perspective about life, tests, and studying. We appreciate your effort to learn more for a more robust, inclusive and successful way of living!
