I am from Bowling Green, Ohio and went to BGSU for my undergrad. My major was in Business Marketing and I had a minor in Nonprofit Administration. I was able to graduate in 3 ½ years because I took CCP classes through my high school. I ended up having about 30 hours of college credit (for free) before I even started college. I put myself through college by working hard to get scholarships and I also worked at the University’s Bursar office for most of my college career.
During my last year at BGSU, I realized I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do marketing as a career. However, I always knew I loved animals and protecting the environment and decided that I wanted to do something to that would have a positive impact in the world. After I graduated, I decided to take a year and figure out what I really wanted to do. I got a job working in accounting at a local company. While I learned some valuable skills, I quickly realized this is not what I was passionate about, so I started exploring different options.
After quite a bit of research, I decided I wanted to go to law school to become an environmental lawyer. I thought this was how I could make the biggest difference. I just finished my first semester at Capital University Law School in Columbus. I am currently looking for internships for the summer and preparing for my next semester. Law School is super difficult, but I take it one day at a time and I know if I continue to work hard, I can do it. In the future, I would love to become an environmental lawyer at a nonprofit. My dream job would be to work at a place like Earth Justice or Sierra Club.
