Perfect Baah

I was born in Ghana, and my background and experiences have played a major role in shaping who I am today. Growing up, I learned the importance of hard work, respect, perseverance, and valuing education. In pursuit of a better educational experience and more opportunities for my future, I moved to America, which was a major transition that helped me grow stronger and more independent. Adjusting to a new environment taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying focused on my goals. During my senior year of high school, I attended Penta Career Center for phlebotomy training, where I discovered a strong passion for healthcare and helping others. That experience helped me develop professionalism, confidence, and valuable employability skills that will continue to guide me in my future career. The support and encouragement from my teachers, mentors, family, and community inspired me to continue striving for success and becoming a positive example for others.

Currently, I am continuing my education at Columbus State Community College while working toward a future career in nursing. After graduating high school, I remained focused on building a strong academic foundation and preparing for nursing school. This summer, I will be taking college classes while also preparing to begin my first job experience, which I see as an important step toward becoming more independent and gaining professional experience. My phlebotomy background has strengthened my communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to care for people from different backgrounds. As someone with Ghanaian roots, I value community, compassion, and perseverance, and I strive to bring those values into everything I do as a student and future healthcare professional.

In the future, I plan to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). My goal is to work in healthcare providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients while continuing to grow professionally and personally. I hope to gain experience in hospitals, expand my medical knowledge, and eventually specialize in anesthesia care. I also want to use my journey and experiences to inspire others, especially students who come from diverse backgrounds and are pursuing ambitious goals. I am excited to continue my education, build a successful healthcare career, and make a positive impact both in my community and beyond.
